A letter from the founder

"I started The Unplugged Collective because I was lonely, and I realized a lot of people around me were too."

What I saw wasn't a failure of effort. People are trying. They're working hard, staying connected online, showing up however they can. What's missing is the infrastructure for real belonging.

Over time, we quietly lost the spaces and places that once held community together. Porch culture, neighborhood gatherings, shared meals, places where people could simply exist together without performance. In many ways, those spaces were replaced with feeds, algorithms, and curated interaction.

People are doing their best inside a system that no longer makes much room for the kind of connection humans actually need.

So we started gathering.

And yes, it's as simple as it sounds. Walks. Potlucks. Conversations. Skill shares. Phones away and people showing up exactly as they are.

That's the work.

Not a campaign, a trend, or a moment. Simply a slow, steady reweaving of community in our corner of the world.

And it's working.

People stay longer than they planned. They come back. They bring friends. They begin to remember what it feels like to belong to each other again.

I'm grateful you're here. There's a seat for you.
